Our client is a Northern Ireland based family business employing  approximately  50 staff and involved in engineering and the manufacture/refurbishment of various products in rubber and plastics.  The Company has ambitious and progressive plans for growth and there has been continuous investment in new factory buildings, CNC plant and development of its processes.  As part of the ambitious growth plan the Company is now seeking to both expand and modernise its Sales Department with emphasis on expansion of its customer base into ROI and GB. They now wish to recruit a Sales and Marketing Manager to assist with this.

The role in brief – Sales and Marketing Manager


·         Manage and develop an already successful successful sales and marketing team, whilst also dealing with Customers and achieving Sales targets within his own personal Customer base

·         Coordination, control and motivation of the Sales Team, currently 3 persons.

·         Improve the market awareness of the Company, their capabilities and their unique features within NI, ROI and GB

·         Improve current marketing practices in the Company, and to introduce telesales, and other methods to the Business

·         Provide guidance and leadership in planning, cost control and efficiency of sales activities

·         Have an input into pricing systems, and other aspects which improve the Company’s competitive position, whilst at the same time being able to improve the negotiation skills within the Business

·         Manage key customers in conjunction with the Sales Team and minimise loss of customers

·         Achieving growth targets agreed with Directors, and to ensure achievement of sales targets and margins by members of the Sales Team

·         Collaborate with the Company Leadership on all Sales activities.

·         Offer strategic, opportunity, and other input to the Company, seeking to identify new products/services and markets


The ideal candidate – Sales and Marketing Manager:


·         The ideal candidate will have a successful Sales and Marketing Management background with relevant product and market knowledge, preferably gained by working within the Engineering  or Rubber and Plastics sector

·         Good communicator with proven leadership and teamwork skills

  • Strong understanding of conventional and CNC machining
  • The position will be suitable only to candidates with a dedicated, flexible approach who can work effectively as part of a team and on their own initiative
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Full clean driving licence
