Our client, a major player in the food sector, is based in Armagh. This long established company is a supplier of fresh produce to the major multiples in the UK and Ireland. As a result of continued growth, the company now wish to appoint an experienced:


Production Manager


The Role in brief (full job spec available on request):

·         To ensure that the factory and all its processes are run in such a manner as to allow all of the products to be produced in exact accordance with the specification and are made on time and delivered to the customer as and when required.  To manage and motivate the Production teams in order to achieve maximum efficiencies.

·         Liaise with the management team to plan production for the week, ensuring that adequate produce is available to meet demand.

·         Be fully aware of all health and safety procedures, assuring these are always followed

·         Review weekly KPI’s and agree targets for the following week

·         Oversee the Human Resource function in production e.g. recruitment, selection, disciplining, holidays, etc.

·         The role would involve responsibility for staff training, to include Health & Safety, HACCP, multi-skilling and all other aspects of staff personal and professional development

·         Liaise with the management team on supply or quality issues


The person:

·         Ideally a Third Level qualification in Agriculture, Food Science, Engineering or related Field

·         At least 2-3 years production / manufacturing management experience in a Food or related manufacturing environment

·         A strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative and demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels

·         Excellent team working and team management skills

·         Able to identify, agree, implement and manage improvements in the manufacturing system in line with the company policy of “Continuous Improvement”

·         Experience on lean concepts would be advantageous

·         Able to demonstrate knowledge of how safe working practices are applied in a manufacturing environment

·         Proactive with strong organisational and planning skills

·         Strong IT skills
