Procurement Manager (REF. 1689)

Our client is a major subsidiary of a leading brewery serving a customer base across the island of Ireland. They are currently seeking to recruit a Procurement Manager to be based at their offices in Northern Ireland.

This is a senior procurement appointment and a new position within the organisation.

Procurement Manager 

The role in brief (full spec available on request):

 

·         Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement as required by forecast

·         Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials

·         Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes

·         Determine and establish optimal inventory levels

·         Coordinate material flows throughout product, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and products

·         Manage and resolve issues regarding PO

·         Provide back-up support for supply chain functions

·         Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters

·         Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options

·         Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures

·         Work in compliance to code of ethics, GSCOP, Anti-Bribery and supplier code

 

The ideal candidate:

 

·         Sound educational achievement together with professional qualification in Business / Supply Chain or related area

·         At least 5 years’ experience in a buyer/planner within the FMCG / Food or Drinks sectors

·         Excellent negotiation skills

·         Experienced with MRP systems

·         Proficient with MS Office suite – advanced skills with MS Excel and ideally Dynamics

·         Excellent organisation, communication and follow-up skills

·         Excellent people management skills

·         Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations

·         Extremely high standards of excellence

·         Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving
