Manufacturing Planner / Scheduler

To assist in the execution and management of all duties in relation to future planning, while creating and communicating factory plans with the overall goal of achieving 100% service level at least cost. Reporting to the Senior Planner the Planner will:

The role:

  • To gain a full understanding of food production planning
  • Contribute to reviews of proposed new products and specifications particularly regarding effect on product availability, production patterns and scheduling
  • Undertake projects or investigations as requested relevant to area of responsibility and/or career development
  • Liaise with sister sites to ensure best utilisation of resources
  • Liaise with Purchasing to ensure correct supply of resource to department
  • Handle additions/amendments during the shift and update production schedules where necessary
  • Enter orders into the computer model to update requirements


The ideal candidate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure
  • The ability to use one’s own initiative and remain focused
  • An ability to work as part of a team and in an individual
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ideally previous experience in a planning environment
  • Ideally a working knowledge of an FMCG and/or manufacturing environment
