Engineering Packaging Technician (Multi Skilled)


Our client is a leading dairy company, selling into UK, Irish, and International markets. They believe our success is built on our people, and as they embark on an ambitious transformation journey, they are looking to recruit the following position based at their world class production facility in Co Tyrone:








The Role




As an Engineering Packaging Technician your responsibility will be to:




·         Optimise the performance of automated production packing machinery and ancillary plant.


·         Work closely with production colleagues to ensure that equipment is properly set up and maintained; monitoring performance and carrying out fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as necessary.


·         Your job will also involve continuous process improvement, lean manufacturing projects, preventative maintenance, modifications and providing support for the installation and commissioning of new equipment as well as assisting with the ongoing training and development of operators.


·         This role has both mechanical (Approx 80%) and electrical (approx. 20%) responsibilities




The Person




  • Candidates should have undertaken an engineering apprenticeship/training programme with a recognised qualification equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 Electrical
  • 3+ years relevant experience in providing technical support to high speed packing equipment
  • Candidates should be capable of carrying out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Have a positive, proactive approach with good communication skills and a track record of successfully contributing within a work place team. 
  • Ideally candidates will have previous experience working within a food manufacturing environment


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information, status and issues in a clear and concise manner with the goal of driving to a decision
  • Strong coaching and training skills
  • Demonstrates a history of internal and external customer-focused behaviours
  • Demonstrates an improvement mindset and application
