Our client is a successful, long established, international manufacturing company. An excellent opportunity has arisen in their Co. Down facility for a:
Engineering Manager – CMA1732
The role:
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of engineers
- Develop the team and individuals’ skills to support the business goals
- Manage performance using the Company’s tools and systems
- Manage and allocate resources
- Identify training needs and implement training plan to ensure team can support the needs of the business
- Interact with all other functions at the site and support daily operations
- Support the development of annual department goals and generate implementation plans to deliver against agreed targets
- Lead concurrent engineering and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
- Support and lead implementation of 5S, process improvement, Lean and Problem Solving within the department
- Support operations development of Lean manufacturing processes
- Communicate regularly and directly with the team to keep them up to date on departmental and site issues
- Responsible for the health and safety of the department
The person:
Essential Criteria
- 3rd level qualification in a related Engineering discipline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in Engineering gained in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ICT skills
Desirable Criteria
- 5 years working experience in Engineering gained in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a comparable management role
- Lean and problem solving skills
- Relevant management training
- Achieved or working towards accreditation by an Engineering body
