Operations Manager

Our client is a food manufacturing / processor with extensive and excellent facilities based in mid-Ulster. We are working with them to source a senior Operations Manager with a strong technical appreciation and understanding.

Operations Manager

  • Working closely with the Factory Manager, the successful Operations Manager will form part of the senior management team and will have particular responsibility for factory hygiene.
  • This plant has undergone significant investment and the management of the hygiene and related functions is critical to ensuring manufacturing continuity
  • The effective execution of this role also presents significant opportunity to drive efficiency and cost reduction within the facility
  • Due to the nature of the position and plant operating patterns, the Operations Manager will work across a night shift pattern. This will present an opportunity for autonomy but will also require a resilient and self-reliant individual with the experience and capacity to take decisions.

The ideal candidate – Operations Manager:

  • Graduate calibre and has been operating at a relevant managerial level within food manufacturing environment
  • Strong People Management skills and experience gained at middle to senior management level
  • Extensive knowledge of food processing together with a strong appreciation of the technical aspects of food processing
  • Performance driven with a proven track record of success in FMCG Processing environment
  • Consumer and customer orientated
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record building successful teams
  • A role model, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and mentor
  • Well organised and self-motivated
  • Numerate and possessing good analytical skills, with experience of tracking production statistics, variances, KPIs etc.
  • Food and manufacturing related qualifications (HACCP, IOSH)

The position may suit a current operational or technical manager who is prepared to work within the unusual work patterns required for this position.
