Operations Manager 1464

Our client is a well-established, specialist engineering firm based in the west Tyrone area. The products range from specialist moulded compounds, CNC Machining, fabrication and machining.


Reporting to the Managing Director we are seeking an Operations Manager to join the senior management team.




Main Duties:

·         To contribute to the vision and strategic planning of all manufacturing activities of the Company

·         To provide motivation, inspiration and provide training to manufacturing staff as and when needed

·         To review on an ongoing basis the staffing, structure and other resources to ensure customer satisfaction, but in an efficient and profitable way

·         To co-ordinate all depts. through team Supervisors (3 people) and other specialists.

·         To progressively increase the professionalism of the Company, and on an ongoing basis improve systems, methodologies and processes

·         Control of labour, materials, plant and machinery to include maintenance, cost control and therefore profitability, safe working environment, quality assurance and all other aspects of best practice manufacturing

·         To co-ordinate all jobs passing through the departments, and to ensure that they are successfully completed

·         To co-ordinate the recruitment of manufacturing staff at all levels, possibly jointly with Directors

·         To continually improve the performance of the Business

·         To develop the communication and systems within the Manufacturing facilities

·         Responsible for HR and Employee relations for those under his control

·         To measure performance relative to all agreed KPI’s. and to instigate remedial action where necessary

·         To ensure the Company complies with all legislation

·         Co-ordinate special projects from time to time


The ideal Candidate:

·         Graduate level in Business, Engineering or related subject, or compensating experience

·         Excellent communication and persuasion skills, both verbal and written, with people at all levels

·         Possess a good knowledge of Engineering processes, in particular CNC and manual machining, fabrication and machine building, and an appreciation of moulding processes

·         Analytical thinker and ability to share knowledge and ideas

·         Commercially & financially astute

·         Forward positive and optimistic thinker with proven Leadership and Team skills

·         Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills

·         Ability to deal effectively and professionally with customers
