New Product Development Manager - Engineering

Our client is a manufacturer and market leader of a range of industrial, construction & related products. Due to continued success they now have a requirement for a New Product Development Manager. This is an excellent opportunity within the organisations European headquarters.

New Product Development Manager

Reporting to the Technical/Product Development Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for management of new product development engineering activities within the Technical department

The position in brief (a full specification available on request) – New Product Development Manager

·         Manage the new product introduction process (NPI) and provide support to manufacturing, procurement, marketing and sales.

·         To prepare project, budget and resource plans to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.

·         To oversee materials and product testing to meet quality, regulatory and customer requirements.

·         Prepare information for gate reviews for project updates and capex approvals.

·         To liaise with customers, commercial and marketing teams in the development of design solutions

·         To ensure all technical documentation required for new product introduction is provided to marketing, manufacturing, quality and procurement including 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, BOMs, component specifications and ECN documentation.

·         Support other departments, customer service, operations, quality and marketing in resolving Technical issues and customer queries.

 

The ideal candidate – New Product Development Manager

 

·         5 years’ experience in engineering particularly with an emphasis on product development

·         Degree or equivalent in engineering or a design related discipline

·         Knowledge of new product introduction

·         Ideally strong and demonstrable knowledge of plastic and metal fabrication process

·         Highly motivated with strong people management skills

·         Hands on practical approach with excellent organisation skills.

·         Fully competent in use of 3D CAD and Microsoft packages.

 

Remuneration will depend on experience, this is a key position and we are keen to explore this opportunity with suitable qualified and ambitious candidates.
