Group Technical & Quality Director

Our client is a leading UK company supplying a wide range of consumer food products.  Due to significant investment and expansion, they wish to appoint a:

Group Technical & Quality Director        

The role in brief (full specification available on request):

  • Responsible for the Group Technical and Quality strategy and operations
  • The Technical and Quality Director is responsible for leading the Group’s technical and quality activities
  • Manage the Group technical and quality systems, the performance and the overall development of the function
  • Oversee product testing and the Group’s laboratories, champion technical excellence and nutritional best practice as well as managing the technical relationships with customers, research partners, suppliers and statutory authorities

The person:

  • Educated to degree level or in the absence of a degree the post holder will have substantial similar experience within the agri-food sector
  • 8+ years in Technical and Quality roles with at least five years at a Senior level
  • Experience implementing organisational strategy
  • Experience in the use of technology to support communication, data collection and data analysis
  • Able to illustrate an inherent passion and drive to deliver a robust change agenda
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information, status and issues in a clear and concise manner with the goal of driving to a decision
  • Strong critical thinking, relationship building and leadership skills to effectively influence stakeholders and meet project requirements
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, negotiation, documentation and problem-solving skills
  • Can take ownership for issues and is comfortable in a results / performance based culture
  • Able to initiate change, improvement, cost reduction and deliver results.
  • Strong customer/market led approach
  • Strong commercial approach in all aspects of the operation optimising sales and profit in both short and long term
  • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Project, Excel and Word as well as other typical business productivity tools
